Khan-Uul district of Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, is one of the first four districts of the capital city established by the Decree No. 79 of the Presidium of the People’s Great Hural of the People’s Republic of Mongolia on April 14, 1965. It is located in the southwestern part of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, at the foot of the Bogd Khan-Uul Strictly Protected Area, on the banks of the Queen Tuul.,the district is a complex of territorial, administrative and economic activities that exercise state rights and responsibilities in combination with “Local self-government” and “Public administration” within the mandate granted by the Constitution of Mongolia. The district has 7 departments and 2 divisions, including the Citizens’ Representative Khural, the Governor’s Office and its internal structure. It has 21 khoroos, the primary administrative unit, 27 independent divisions and offices under the Governor, independent courts and prosecutors, and provides fast and unimpeded public services to its citizens.
